JUSTICE COURT WEDDING INFORMATION
WEDDING CEREMONY
The Justice of the Peace routinely performs wedding ceremonies during office hours. For a wedding ceremony appointment call (406) 843-4237.
MARRIAGE LICENSE
Prior to the ceremony, the bride and groom will need to purchase a marriage license in Montana. For marriage license information, call the Clerk of District Court (406) 843-4230. Or click here for more information.
WRITTEN CEREMONY
The Judge will read her ceremony vows or the Bride & Groom’s own vows.
CEREMONY LOCATIONS
Some options are:
- The Courtroom
- The Balcony
- The Spiral Staircase
- Courthouse Lawn
- The Brewery Gardens across the street from the Courthouse
FILING OF THE LICENSE
After the ceremony is complete, the marriage license must be taken to the Clerk of District Court. The Clerk or her Deputy will file the information and return the license to the Bride & Groom.
FEE
There is not a fee for the marriage ceremony during office hours.
