Officers Receive New AED's and Training

On October 18, 2011, each of the nine full time officers of the Madison County Sheriff's Office received a new AED (Automatic External Defibrillation) device to have on board their patrol vehicles. Certification on the use and implementation of CPR and AED was instructed by NREMT Mary Birdsill and Deputy Sheriff/NREMT Dan S Birdsill. The Madison County Detention staff was also certified and an identical AED device has been placed in the Sheriff's Office.

Physician Assistant Todd Mohr refreshed everyone with basic First Aid then concluded with life saving methods and techniques officers could apply to each other in a tactical situation. Mohr designed and developed this portion of instruction especially for the Madison County Law Enforcement Officers.

The Ruby Valley Ambulance Service in Sheridan partnered with the Sheriff's Office and provided training facilities, equipment, training aids and information.

The citizens of Madison County are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated and professional agencies collaboratively improving emergency response and assistance.
